新课标展示课———保护地球,人人有责(枫叶英语初级)

保护地球,爱护环境是我们永恒不变的话题,如何将这样一个话题讲出新意?让我们一起来看看江宽老师的创意课堂吧~

首先引入眼帘的是黑板上一幅精美的画,两块黑板合起来就是我们富饶的地球。让人眼前一亮的设计点亮了整堂课的气氛。

课前三分钟的演讲,学生围绕围绕节约用水展开,老师点评,导入今日的课堂主题

接下来老师充分利用了板书上的地球,右半边代表未被污染的地球,引导学生讨论地球上丰富的自然资源及这些资源可以给人类提供什么。学生围绕这个话题畅所欲言,老师教授了表达的句型,学生们在发言中把句型得以使用。随着学生的发言,老师的板书不断填充和完善。

谈论了之前的地球,接下来老师引导学生思考现在的地球是个什么现状,地球面临着哪些问题,老师提出了what-why-how三个关键词,引导学生思考和回答地球的现状,原因,及解决这些问题的方法。学生的阐述清晰有条理,左半边的地球板书渐渐丰富起来。

之后老师运用A/B partner的方式,让学生思考和讨论人类可以采取哪些方式保护地球。A/Bpartner的讨论形式,与以往的传统小组讨论不同,学生可以和其他组的组员进行交流意见,增强了交流讨论的广度,讨论可谓是热闹非凡老师在学生交流过程中不断走动给予指导。

最后老师总结reduce, reuse and recycle三个关键词,学生展示他们利用各种废弃物制作的工艺品,深刻切题。

本节课同学们通过谈论地球母亲的前后状况比较,对地球资源、地球环境、地球保护等等有了深刻的意识。正是老师的一步步教学环节的引导,为学生搭建了学习和表达这个主题的脚手架,PPT和板书完美结合,相信学生对这一课终身难忘。

Topic: Speaking-Taking care of the earth

Level: Pre-grade 7

Teacher: Tony

This was a speaking class based on the main contents in Unit 13 and Unit 14 of Elementary Maple Leaf English 5B.The teacher aimed at guiding students to analyze the relevant questions and express their opinions about the earth in a logical way and then form a integrated mind-map.There were mainly 3 parts of the mind-map and all of the contents were from students answers of the 3w questions(what, why and how) .In picture reading, partner discussion and group leader presentation, all groups were highly focused on the tasked-based activities and produced a lot of creative ideas. I also took full use of the board. At the beginning of the class, there was only a drawing of the earth with half of happy face and another tearing which was a foreshadowing part of the whole class. With the teaching procedures promoting, the mind-map was completed part by part. The class started with students speech on the topic of how to safe water. After a short feedback given by the teacher, two groups of pictures were shown to students and asked the first whatquestion- what was/is our mother earth like before/now? The students were asked to give short sentences to express their opinions with teacher's help.We humans can't live without the natural resources on the earth. After the transition sentences above, teacher guided the students to deal with the why questions. At last, students had group discussion to exchange ideas about how to take actions to take care of the earth. The students had A/B partners in discussion, it meant one could not only exchange ideas with the students in the same group but also other individuals in other groups. After a short conclusion given by teacher(three way to help: 3R-reduce, reuse and recycle), students representatives in different groups give presentation on explaining their recycling project. Because the time was limited, students didn't have time to finish the mind-map in the handout. Its better for the middle students to have some writing practice in each class. All the objectives in this speaking class are successfully achieved. As for the Strategic Competence, teacher should give more guidance and help to consolidate the thinking. At the end of the class, they realized how important it is to protect our mother earth and we should take actions to reduce, reduce and recycle from now on.
